Wind that crank, kid!

Lest we give anyone the impression that we are raising a baby that is always smiling and happy, we thought it important to share that this kid is serious. And sometimes seriously pissed off. While grabbing the camera isn't often our first response, there is no shortage of the following pictures. The last one has a special place in our hearts at the moment. Our little skeptic.

Farmers' Market and Pool Party

Angela's folks have been here for the last week, and Sarah, God bless her, is staying for another few weeks to watch Violet while Angela gets back to work (boooo!!).

For his last day in town, we all went down to the Farmers Market in Kerrytown, made some pizzas, and took a dip in the ol' above ground pool (fair warning, dear reader, I have not become more in-shape, less pale, or less hairy than whenever it was that you last saw me).

Happy birthday Ted!

Ted had a birthday this week and we were so happy to celebrate another year of him on this planet. Here he is with two of his favorite things: Violet and a nice cold beer at Common Grill.

More Smiles

Happy Fourth of July

Our family had a lovely Fourth of July. We started out the day with breakfast at Village Kitchen with Annie and Vivian. Later that afternoon, we headed over to the Myers' household as Ted's good friend Chris and his wife Ellen were in town for the long holiday weekend. Ellen is expecting this fall and it was so great to see them both and talk about all things baby. Violet loved all of the party guests that she met but took a special interest in Chris' dad Rick. It was so cute to see. Afterwards, we headed over to Non's house where we met up with Nonnie, Annie and Vivian for some dinner and dessert. The evening ended with a beautiful fireworks display on our drive home. All in all, a great day with fantastic weather and wonderful company. Vi especially liked getting to dress up in festive holiday gear!
