Ted and I rarely can muster up enough enthusiasm to leave Violet. She's just so much fun to be around and she goes to bed at 7, giving us plenty of time to ourselves. The rare times we do, her Nonnie has been so kind to babysit. Last night we spent the evening with some friends and Violet enjoyed some quality time with her Non. Never one to miss a good photo op, Nonnie brought pearls :) It's so nice to be close to family (especially amazing family that is willing to babysit)and not worry for one second while we are away from her. Thanks Nonnie!

Time Flies. Part 2
“When I ask how old your toddler is, I don't need to hear '27 months.' 'He's two' will do just fine. He's not a cheese. And I didn't really care in the first place.” -George Carlin

Time Flies. Part 1.
This past six months has definitely been the fastest of my life. Vi is growing up so quickly. It's crazy. In some ways I can't remember my life without her. And in some ways I feel like she just arrived. But either way, this world is so much more wonderful with her in it.
Six Month Doctor's Visit
Her stats:
Weight 7.3kg (16lbs, 1.5oz): 48th percentile
Length 69cm (27 1/4 inches): 91st percentile
Head Circumference 43.6cm: 84th percentile
Overall lovability: >99th percentile
She's started rolling from back to front which is fun. Not so fun is when she wakes herself in the middle of the night because she has flopped over and think's she's stuck. She seems to be more vocal on a daily basis which is a sheer delight. Her laugh is infectious. She's a tremendous sleeper. I think she gets more beautiful every day. We could not love her more.
Halloween Festivities at Daycare
The daycare tends to celebrate a lot of holidays (United Nations Day, anyone?) and Halloween was great. I left work a little early so I could experience some of the fun. All of the kids had a halloween costume parade (so many cute costumes and lots of ideas for upcoming years) followed by a few skits that were put on by the teachers. Violet had actually gone down for a nap shortly before the parade was scheduled to start but woke up just in time (she was obviously very excited about it and definitely did not want to miss it!). Most of the time she just kinda looked around like "what in the world is happening here?" but I think she enjoyed it nonetheless.
