That said, Christmas was wonderful (both in Brighton and in Kansas), and we even go to see a few Donnells! For her part, Violet's doing a bit more talking, and we're trying to push that along. We give a lot of choices, and that has led to a lot of preferences. Since we're a little soft on her when she's sick and she's been sick a lot, she's perhaps a bit too accustomed to getting her way.
Current favorites:
- songs and music: she likes to dance back and forth with her shoulders
- we've only let her watch a couple of short YouTube videos but she loves them: Singing in the Rain, Spoonful of Sugar, and Good Morning (from Singing in the Rain)
- SWINGING: Liz gave us a swing that I have mounted in the basement, and on any given day, she's happy to spend about 30 min swinging and asking Dada to sing songs. She helps with Old McDonald, but otherwise isn't much of a singer yet.
- Favorite books at the moment include: 10 little fingers and 10 little toes, Where is the Green Sheep, Winnie The Pooh, and anything with Sesame Street characters in it.
So sorry Violet has been down and out. I hope she's feeling better soon. Love you all and miss you lots, Gretchen
