It has to be recorded that Violet had a bad cold this Christmas.  You can see that she's sick in the pictures.  You can also see that she is sweet even when she's sick.

SANTA!!!

So on the 23rd, we made a trip to the mall to be sure that Violet had a chance to meet Santa.

We observed many of the usual initial infant-meets-santa interactions.

In spite of being way overtired, Violet rose to the challenge. She asked Santa for a nap and a clean diaper, and she got just what she wanted for Christmas. She also asked for the most recent Taylor Swift album, but you know that ain't happening. Kids these days!

7 months

Okay, so Vi's technically 8 months old as of Christmas, but as we haven't gotten around to taking 8 month pictures yet, here are a few from 7 months old.

In other news, she's been sick for the last week, and it's definitely been rough on her. Fever, congestion, tired, etc. However, she's on the upswing now, and yesterday was one of her best days yet. Solids are going well, she's doing a lot of "talking", smiles come cheap. Crawling is on the way, but in the meantime, a largely stationary baby is a dramatically easier baby to manage. We saw this first-hand over Christmas since Vivian, Vi's cousin, is commando crawling like crazy!
