Violet's First Wedding (Congratulations Julie and Oguz!)

This past weekend, we took our first family road trip to Harbor Springs, Michigan for my friend Julie's wedding. Harbor Springs is a beautiful town right on the water in northern Michigan and was a perfect location for an outdoor summer wedding. We had an amazing weekend. We could not have been happier to celebrate this tremendous occasion with such a great couple, Julie and Oguz.

Two Month Well Child Visit

Today we had Vi's two month well child visit. As a pediatrician, I've been dreading this visit as I knew it meant lots of shots. Violet did exceptionally well with all of it. I wish I could say the same of her parents. She pretty much hated the oral rotavirus vaccine, which is supposed to taste quite good. I think she may have inherited her dad's palatal preference for the salty. Her doctor was very impressed with her and all of her new tricks. Most importantly, she got a clean bill of health.

Weight 11lbs 13oz (62nd percentile)

Head circumference 39.5cm (84th percentile)

Violet's First Plane Trip (Follow the Yellow Brick Road)

As Ted mentioned in the last post, last weekend we took Violet to Kansas to meet lots of extended family. The trip went as well as could possibly be expected. She did amazing on both flights (eating on take off and landing, mostly sleeping between) and we had a fantastic time with lots of good food, laughs and wonderful family. We took about a million photos but I've tried to narrow it down a bit. We also got a number of good videos, mostly of Violet with her namesake. In these, my grandmother is usually singing or speaking in Serbian, which I absolutely love. It was a great trip and we can't wait to get back!
