Happiness and giggles

Edie is really just about the happiest baby around. She is so laid back and is always smiling and laughing. She recently was pretty under the weather and it was a huge downer because she was so serious and not her usual happy go lucky self.

Do you want to build a snowman?

Ever since the first snow, Violet has been extremely excited about the idea of building a snowman. Unfortunately, the first big snow came with ridiculously cold weather, making the snow quite difficult to pack. Despite this, Ted made a valiant effort and he and Violet built a "baby snowman." So baby, in fact, that it is not pictured here. But aren't these three in their winter gear adorable?

Slow down Edie!

Edie is quite the precocious child. Ever since she was very small, I have been trying to get her to slow down. I want to enjoy her as a baby but she is already a bit too big for her britches. She started crawling around 5.5 months and has been cruising now for a bit. All of her teachers at daycare think she's going to walk any day now. And I am a bit in denial, but she may have taken a few steps this evening (I am hoping it was a complete fluke). With Violet, I remember being really excited about every milestone but with Edie, I really wish it would all slow down. I may even be a bit guilty of (gently) pushing her down when she tries to stand and walk. If only I could truly slow down time. Here she is about a month ago, looking pretty proud of herself.  And she thinks her dad is pretty funny.

Meeting Santa

As per our yearly tradition, we took the girls this past weekend to meet the mall Santa. We talked it up quite a bit to Violet for the week leading up to it so she was definitely ready. She had planned out everything she wanted to say including the items on her list (markers and stickers with Dory, a new book, and pink blocks). As we walked up and she got a look at the man in red, she exclaimed "Santa!" in the cutest little amazed whisper. She got a bit shy just before we put her on Santa's lap but warmed up quickly. As soon as she stepped down, she was asking to go back and see him again. She was also very interested in obtaining a second candy cane. Edie, on the other hand, had a rough time. She was overtired as she had refused to nap all morning. She was doing ok on Mrs. Claus' lap until she caught a glimpse of Santa and completely lost it.

PHO holiday party fun

My division had their yearly holiday party and this year the babies were out in full force. Pictured from left to right: Louis (Dan (2nd year fellow)'s youngest), Theodore (Gina (3rd year fellow)'s baby), Edie (cutest of all, obviously), and Alexa (Kelly (attending)'s baby).

Fourth of July

We had a lovely Fourth of July. The girls are both quite patriotic as you can tell from their apparel.

Father's Day

Ok, so this has gotten seriously out of hand. We are completely delinquent with posting but are on a mission to catch up. So, back to June.

The girls are so lucky to have Ted. He is seriously such an amazing father and seeing him with the girls, I fall more in love with him every day. They both adore him (as do I). As per usual, we hit Village Kitchen for some breakfast to celebrate his day, then headed for a walk in the park. It was  lovely.
