Violet is One!

Violet turned one on Saturday and we had quite the celebration. Around 40 people had RSVPed and our house is not that big, so we were really hoping for some good weather. Sadly the weather in Michigan did not cooperate, as is often the case. Since the weatherman was predicting 50s and rain, our outdoor plans were foiled. Luckily, we ended up with around 30 people and things went off without a hitch indoors. Highlights of the day included a piñata, a group of super cooperative kids posing on the couch for pictures, some delicious meatballs, Violet refusing to even taste her smash cake, and my amazing friend Lauren flying in from NYC just for the day (!) to celebrate with us. Lauren is amazing and I was so happy to see her and finally meet her daughter Pearl, who could not be any cuter or more fun. All in all, it was a fabulous day and we so appreciated everyone coming out to celebrate this amazing year with us.

Violet's Birthday from Aunt Annie

As usual, many thanks to Annie for taking more and better photos than we did. Violet had a great 1st birthday party on Saturday, and many many thanks to everyone that was able to join us. We missed the rest of you terribly, but personally, I can say that the meatballs were some consolation.
